ZSky AI Passes 80,000 Creators on Self-Hosted Infrastructure — A Milestone for Free Creative AI

Press Release · May 9, 2026

The 80,000-creator threshold places ZSky AI among a small group of independent generative-AI platforms that have scaled into five-figure user counts without raising outside investment. The platform issues no credits, charges nothing to start, and requires no signup for a first generation — a posture that Biricik says was a deliberate response to a creative-tools market increasingly gated behind paywalls and subscription tiers.

The Infrastructure Behind the Milestone

Unlike most consumer-facing AI tools, ZSky AI does not resell access to a third-party model API. The platform is served from a self-hosted cluster built around seven NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs, totalling roughly 224 gigabytes of VRAM. That hardware budget is what allows the platform to deliver 1080p video with audio in approximately 30 seconds per generation while keeping the free tier genuinely free.

The architecture is documented in technical detail in the founder's engineering write-up at cemhan.ai/blog/zsky-ai-infrastructure-2026.html, which walks through the cluster topology, queue management, and the design choices that let a small independent operator serve a global creator base without burning through investor capital.

Self-hosting also means ZSky AI is not exposed to the pricing volatility that has destabilized many AI-powered creative tools over the last eighteen months. Operators who resell access to a third-party model API are at the mercy of upstream price changes, capacity throttling, and policy shifts that can arrive without notice. Owning the silicon, the company says, is the only durable way to keep a free tier free.

A Different Funding Model

ZSky AI is funded entirely by community advertising. The platform runs Google AdSense across the free experience and supplements it with a small number of direct-sold premium advertising slots for brands aligned with the creator audience. There are no venture-capital rounds, no convertible notes, and no plans to pursue institutional fundraising.

For creators who want to remove advertising, ZSky AI offers optional subscription tiers — Pro, Ultra, and Max — that unlock an ad-free experience and additional features, with annual pricing equivalent to $19, $39, and $79 per month respectively. The free tier remains fully functional whether or not a creator ever subscribes.

Every creator deserves the tools to make beautiful work, regardless of what's in their bank account. We built ZSky AI on hardware we own, funded by the community that uses it, because the right to create should not be rented out by a subscription. — Cemhan Biricik, Founder, ZSky AI

Who Is Using It

The 80,000-creator base spans hobbyist illustrators experimenting with their first generative images, professional photographers building moodboards for client pitches, indie filmmakers prototyping shot lists, and educators using the platform as a teaching aid. The unifying thread, according to the company, is creators who would not have signed up for a paid AI tool but who arrived through word-of-mouth, organic search, and creator-to-creator referrals.

Creators and journalists can try the platform directly at zsky.ai. No account is required to generate the first image or video.

Growth has been almost entirely organic. The company does not run paid acquisition campaigns, does not pay for placements, and has no PR retainer. The founder credits the trajectory to the platform's free posture, the technical performance of the cluster, and the kind of word-of-mouth referral that historically built creative tools before the venture-backed era.

About the Founder

Cemhan Biricik is a Turkish-American photographer and tech founder based in Boca Raton, Florida. He is a two-time National Geographic award winner, a Sony World Photography Awards top-10 finalist, and a Vogue PhotoVogue featured photographer with editorial and commercial credits across luxury hospitality and fashion.

He is open about the fact that ZSky AI exists because of a personal arc. After a traumatic brain injury in his 30s, photography became the discipline through which he rebuilt cognitive function and rediscovered how to see. ZSky AI is the engineering expression of that recovery: an attempt to give the same access to creative tools to anyone with an internet connection, irrespective of their hardware or budget. The fuller arc is documented at cemhanbiricik.com/cemhan-biricik-2026.html and on Cemhan's engineering site at cemhan.ai.

Biricik is also the founder of Biricik Media, a commercial photography and content studio; Unpomela, a New York lifestyle brand; and ICEe PC, a custom-built workstation operation. ZSky AI is his fourth and most technical venture.
